Ford Hill's beautiful lounge is not only elegantly decorated but is also warm and cosy. With this stunning blend of comfort and style the lounge is a wonderful place to sit back and relax.
In keeping with the sophisticated décor on the ground floor, the lounge has a lovely vibrant colour theme, with touches of red and cream effortlessly merging with the classic wood floors and contemporary artwork.
Comfort in the lounge is provided by a large sofa and two pretty armchairs. There is also a flat-screen TV on a stylish stand, a BluRay player, a good quality iPod docking station, and a lovely range of books and games neatly stored in the quirky shelves hidden behind the staircase.
For cosy winter evenings the beautiful wood burner in the large fireplace is a wonderful addition to the lounge.
The open plan kitchen is quaint and traditional. Lovingly hand built, the kitchen has a wonderfully charming feel with small drawers storing cutlery, and a pretty wall mounted dresser for displaying a selection of mugs.
Effortlessly merging with the traditional country atmosphere is a range of quality appliances, including a fridge, a coffee machine, a four slice toaster and an electric oven with four ring hob. There is also a decorative period Aga.
Located beside the kitchen is a steep staircase leading to the first floor bedrooms and the rear terrace, where alfresco dining can be enjoyed. A smaller paved courtyard terrace is situated just outside the front of the cottage and is a great place to take advantage of the early morning sun with a warming cup of coffee and the daily newspaper.
Next door to the kitchen is a lovely modern utility room. This large bright room has been fitted to a high standard with a washing machine, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. In addition there is a heated towel rail and a big pantry for storing pots and pans.
A useful porch is located beside the kitchen and is a great place to store muddy boots along with any umbrellas.
Like the rest of the ground floor, the dining room at Ford Hill is beautifully decorated and finished to a very high standard. The warming tones of red felt throughout the downstairs continue in the dining room, making it a wonderful place to enjoy meals with friends or family.
At the heart of the dining room is a modern oak table, which can comfortably seat up to eight. There is also a traditional wood dresser storing the cottage's cutlery and crockery, and finally a comfy armchair, ideal for a little peace and quiet.
The Master Bedroom has a wonderfully luxurious and modern feel with bright red soft furnishings giving it a stylish finish. Central to the bedroom is a double bed with feature headboard. A large built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers are available for storage.
Situated at the rear of the house, the bedroom is able to take advantage of direct access on to the terrace where sun loungers are ideally positioned for warm summer evenings.
The Master Bedroom benefits from its own private en-suite bathroom, which is fitted with a good size bath with overhead shower, a loo and a sink. A heated towel rail is also provided.

A lovely mix of old and new combines in the Ford Hill double bedroom. The delicate shades of blue and green wonderfully complements the bedroom's brightness, whilst the few exposed wood beams give the room a sense of tradition and character.

Situated off the first floor sun room is the lovely fully enclosed garden terrace that takes full advantage of the setting sun. The terrace is surrounded by a pretty wood fence and flower borders. A small gate gives direct access to the garden.
A contemporary round wood table seats up to six and a BBQ is provided for sunny summer evenings spent outside in the garden.
Ford Hill has a large garden with a wonderful beech tree set to one side to provide shade on a summer afternoon. The garden is mainly laid to lawn and enjoys far reaching views of the local countryside and across to the two Hangman hills at Combe Martin.
Storage for wet suits, surf boards and bikes is provided for in the garage, and there is an outside tap with hose for washing off any sand or mud.
Ford Hill Cottage has a large garage, which has recently been refurbished into a good sized comfortable games room. Featured in the games room along with the sofa and bean bags is a pool table, table football, a big wall mounted TV complete with sound system and a DVD/BluRay player.
The games room is fully heated making it ideal for all year round enjoyment. A beach box and bike racks are also provided along with space for hanging wet suits. An outside tap with hose is great for washing off sand or mud.
Unfortunately, Ford Hill Cottage is unable to accept pets.
Like many beautiful old cottages Ford Hill Cottage is arranged over a number of levels and has a steep staircase so is not considered suitable for toddlers or those with mobility limitations.
